The State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC) launched a "Green Future" Media Day and also the 2022 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report Releasing Conference in Shanghai on May 9.

SPIC announced its Corporate Social Responsibility Report (2022) and the annual outstanding cases for CSR and ESG (environmental, social, and governance).

Wuling Power’s overseas implementation of social responsibility in its Bangladesh Cox’s Bazar wind power project was shortlisted, titled “China-Bangladesh friendship strengthened by ‘Belt and Road’ initiative winds. ”

The Bangladesh Cox’s Bazar wind power project is the first green power project invested, constructed, and operated by SPIC in South Asia, and also the first wind power project in Bangladesh. It was constructed with Chinese technologies, standards, and equipment, and has been hailed as "a model of China-Bangladesh energy cooperation" by Bangladeshi media.

Wuling Power has actively responded to the national "Belt and Road" Initiative and practiced the vision of green development overseas. It invested in and undertook the construction of the Cox’s Bazar wind power project, helping Bangladesh make history in wind power industry. Meanwhile, Wuling Power shared the latest achievements of "Chinese modernization" with the friendly neighbors of our country, and thus enhanced its international profile.

During the construction of the project, Wuling Power made concerted efforts to assimilate into the local culture. It employed 350 local workers during the project’s peak period, which generated 4.5 million USD in tax revenue for the local government during the construction process alone. Upon operation, the project would achieve an annual power generation capacity of 145.6 GWh. It can reduce annual coal consumption by 44,600 tons, carbon dioxide emissions by 109,200 tons, and sulfur dioxide emissions by 25.15 tons, which will play a positive role in promoting economic development, energy saving and emission reduction, and environmental protection in Bangladesh.

Last August, Bangladesh was hit by the most serious flood in a hundred years, with millions of people being affected. Wuling Power’s Bangladesh Business Division immediately rallied all employees to donate 100,000 Taka to Bangladeshi government charities in aiding in disaster relief, strengthening its image as a socially responsible enterprise overseas.
